The future of open source media center?
1. The opening screen. Only “Play videos” and “Listen to Music” work at this point.
2. After selecting “English New” folder a demo of how the application handles up and down keys is shown. The selector moves. But if selection goes beyond the window limits the text moves with the same animation.
3. Next I play a track that has an album art. I don’t know why the screen flickered and the media time flickers when I am recording. It does not happen if I don’t use the SVIDEO out and TV tuner to record. So the actual experience is much better
4. Pressing esc key stops the player and returns to previous screen.
5. One more esc later, pressing ‘e’ on a folder gives more options like “Play all files in directory” etc.
6. Multiple items can be queued in the player. Pressing ‘a’ and ‘z’ in the player screen will change to previous and next item in the playlist (not shown in the video)
7. Pressing ‘d’ on player screen attaches the player to the main screen and takes you back to the previous screen. The player maintains the album art, metadata and media time while you keep browsing.
8. Selecting a video to play causes the audio player to stop and the video player starts fullscreen.
9. Pressing esc key stops video and takes you back to the previous screen.
10. Selecting multiple items works just like with audio player. As each media ends, the next item loads and start playing in the playlist.
11. Pressing ‘d’ will cause the player to attach itself to the main screen and thus plays in a mini player mode while you keep browsing.
